Elston Rites Are Held At Family Home- Funeral services for Isaac C. Elston were held Wednesday afternoon at the family home, 400 E. Pike St. Rev. John G. DeKruyter, pastor of the Wabash Avenue Presbyterian Church, and Dr. Eric Dean, head of the department of religion at Wabash College, were in charge. Burial was in the family plot in Oak Hill Cemetery. Homer Linn, in behalf of the United Spanish War Veterans, presented the flag which had draped the casket to Mrs. Elston. Members of the Board of Directors of the Elston Bank & Trust Co. sat in a body at the funeral. Mr. Elston was honorary chairman of the board. Active pallbearers were John J. Markham and Thomas A. Kavanaugh of Chicago, William H. McMurtrie of Indianapolis, Byron W. Kemper of Evansville and Herbert C. Morrison, Gordon G. Beemer, Benjamin A. Rogge and Dr. Samuel C. Mills of Crawfordsville. Honorary pallbearers were Frank H. Sparks and Howard Simonds, both of New York; Paul H. Davis, Arthur Wakely, Vernon Loucks, Timothy G. Lowry, John B. Landry Jr., Louis J. Cross, Michael Rizzo, George McEwan, J. R. Blomquist and Marshall A. Pippin, all of Chicago; Eli Lilly, John P. Collett and Frederic M. Hadley, all of Indianapolis; Henry E. Greene of Clearwater, Fla.; Lee Stealey of Clayton, Mo.; James D. Adams of Columbia City, and Richard O. Ristine, Binford Miller, Byron K. Trippet, Richard E. Banta, John Binford and Neil Hutsinpillar, all of Crawfordsville. Mr. Elston, prominent in business both here and in Chicago for nearly 70 years, died Saturday morning at his home in Delray Beach, Fla. - thanks to Lena :)
